An Evening with The Milk Trekker
Wednesday, Feb 4, 5 pm Dinner available, 6.30 pm Talk Begins
The HCA is graciously hosting an event, open to the public, the evening after our rennet workshop. Trevor Warmedahl has certainly earned the moniker of 'cheese nomad', having spent years travelling in search of natural and traditional cheesemaking practice. From the Balkan mountains of Eastern Europe, to the jagged edges of Iceland, to the pastoral plateaus of Mongolia, he seems to have trekked where no other cheese nerd has ventured before.
Trevor will share images and stories of his travels and give us a peek into his yet-to-be-released book, Cheese Trekking: How Microbes, Landscapes, Livestock, and Human Cultures Shape Terroir. You can snag a signed copy!
If you can make it before the talk, enjoy a dinner inspired by his travels - the HCA is making Khachapuri for the occasion, a traditional Georgian cheese-filled bread that demonstrates our universal human craving for carbs and melted cheese.
We're treating our staff to the event — it is ticketed for the public. For this reason, please tag this super-quick RSVP for us so that we can tip off the kitchen crew on what to expect.
