The Anne Saxelby Legacy Fund Collection

As part of our mission to give back to the community—both locally and to our cheese community at large—we’ve put together a collection to support the Anne Saxelby Legacy Fund! This organization was founded after the passing of our friend and mentor, Anne, whose early contributions to the American farmstead cheese movement cannot be understated. A portion of the proceeds from every box sold will be donated to the fund.

This non-profit provides paid apprenticeships to young folks who want to dig in to the world of sustainable food production. With an international network of 54 participating food producers, ASLF’s apprenticeship program facilitates an interchange of ideas, skills, and travel experiences designed to inspire a new generation to radically reevaluate our food system.

This collection showcases an array of outrageously delicious cheeses, cured meat from another Vermont ASLF participating farm, Monti Verdi Salumi, as well as local raw honey.

What’s In The Box?

Winnimere (13-ounce wheel)
Our signature winter-seasonal raw milk cheese, made from our own herd. A rustic, washed rind brings meaty, smoky depth, complimented by woodsy aromas from the spruce band.

A raw milk raclette-style cheese made from our own herd. An ideal melter with buttery, smooth flavors and a peachy washed rind that lends a gentle, aromatic funk.

Moses Sleeper (8-oz wheel)
Moses is an approachable and nuanced soft-ripened cheese. Beneath its thin, bloomy rind lies a gooey, milky core showing a complex array of flavors of cauliflower, crème fraîche, and toasted nuts. A bright, clean finish with a hint of white mushroom aroma follows.

Barr Hill Raw Honey (2.5-ounce jar)
Raw honey is never heated or pasteurized, leaving beneficial traces of pollen and propolis. Sourced by our friends at Barr Hill Distillery, where they use it to craft an incredible line of spirits.

Monti Verdi Lonzino (3-ounce package)
Lonzino, or cured pork loin, is a lean and delicate cut—similar to prosciutto. Monti Verdi, a Vermont artisan, employs old-world techniques with their own farm-raised, heritage breed pork.
